Governor Veniamin Kondratyev discusses contribution of small and medium-sized business to regional economy

«Small and medium-sized businesses play a vital role in the stability and development of the economy of the Krasnodar Region. Smaller companies adapt quickly to market demands, drive innovation, and create jobs. Almost 1.4 million people work in this sector, accounting for 47% of the region's total workforce. Today, entrepreneurs account for more than a quarter of the region's entire economy: the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross regional domestic product has reached 27.7%. For our part, we continue to support businesses; today, over 210 support measures are available in the Krasnodar Region, including low-interest microloans, subsidies, and grants,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

There are currently around 328,000 small and medium-sized businesses registered in the Krasnodar Region, accounting for almost 89% of all economic entities. Over the past 10 years, their number has increased by 56,000, or 21%, including a 6.3% increase in 2025 alone.

The Krasnodar Region implements a system of state support measures for entrepreneurs, provided by regional microfinance, business development, innovation, and industrial development funds, as well as by the Export Support Centre and the Investment Promotion Agency. Among the small and medium-sized businesses that have received support are a restaurant, a pet hotel, an apiary, confectionery manufacturers, and enterprises specialising in growing seedlings and producing cardboard and metal wire.
