Veniamin Kondratyev: Krasnodar Territory concluded investment agreements for more than 310 billion rubles at SPIEF 2023

The Governor was interviewed by Russia 24 at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

«To date, the Krasnodar Territory has managed to conclude investment agreements for more than 310 billion rubles. This is almost twice as much as last year. The main area of interest for investors is undoubtedly the health and resort industry. 39 hotels are being built in the region. Four years ago, it was impossible to talk about it. On the SPIEF platform alone, a number of agreements have been signed with Sochi on the construction of new hotels and the renovation of existing health resorts. This is of utmost importance for the development of the health resort and hospitality sector of the economy,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

The head of the region emphasized that now is the time for opportunities for businesses and regions. It is crucial to move towards economic sovereignty and to do everything possible to occupy the vacated niches.

«With its extensive fertile lands, which are naturally suited to grain production, the Krasnodar Territory is an agrarian region, and we are developing those areas that will allow us to remain the health resort and breadbasket of our country, a year-round resort,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

The Governor also spoke about the development of viticulture and winemaking, the opening of the Far Western Krasnodar Bypass, which will enable traffic flows to bypass the regional centre, unloading its roads and reducing travel time to resorts and the Crimean bridge.

On the second day of the SPIEF 2023, the delegation of the Krasnodar Territory agreed with the joint-stock bank Rossiya to expand cooperation in the region, as well as with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Association of Employers of the Krasnodar Territory.

The Governor discussed the development of food production with investors, signed agreements on the construction of Russia’s first citric acid plant in the region, the second stage of a machine tool plant in Krasnodar, and an internationally renowned resort complex in Anapa, and participated in a panel session entitled ‘Film and TV series production in Russia: support in the times of sanctions’.
